The Norwegian Glacier Museum is situated in Fjærland - the village surrounding the Fjærlandsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord. You can reach Fjærland from Oslo and Bergen, either by air plane to Sogndal, Førde or Sandane or via route 5 from Sogndal or Skei.
Travelling times to Fjærland from:
- Balestrand: 1,5 h - Car ferry in summer
- Hella: 1 h (car - 70 km), car ferry in summer
- Skei: 1/2 h (car - 30 km)
- Førde or Sandane Airport: 1,5 h (car - 80 km)
- Sogndal Airport: 50 min. (car - 50 km)
- Bergen: 4-5 h (boat, car or bus)
- Oslo: 6-8 h (boat & train via Flåm, bus/car via Lærdal)
